Get the family Instagram-ready with ‘The Grinch’ outfits
Forget fugly clichéd holiday-themed jerseys: matching family pyjamas is the latest craze for the holidays and is flying off the shelves, says Pick n Pay Clothing.
Matching sets of festive season pyjamas have become a staple family bonding tradition around the world, and Pick n Pay Clothing has kept on trend by securing the exclusive rights to the official The Grinch range, the beloved holiday fictional character created by children's author and cartoonist Dr Seuss
The Grinch range, which launched this week, includes pyjamas, slippers, socks, and family T-shirts. The value-clothing retailer has also launched a red and white “sleigh” pyjama set for the whole family, including a scarf for furry four-legged family members.
“The concept of matching family pyjamas is not entirely new, but its popularity has experienced a significant surge recently,” explains Hazel Pillay, General Manager at Pick n Pay Clothing.
“Social media platforms have played a pivotal role in popularising this trend, as families showcase their adorable coordinated sleepwear. The desire to create and share picture-perfect moments with friends and family online has fuelled the trend's growth this festive season.”
Pick n Pay Clothing, which continues to grow its market share, especially in childrenswear, increased its range and volume this year to cater to diverse preferences after the burgeoning popularity of its Christmas-themed offerings since 2020. They have also launched novelty Christmas shirts, including adorable dresses for girls and a Santa onesie for babies, “so that the family is always picture-ready whatever the occasion”.
